HIGHLAND PARK – In light of Friday’s terror attacks in Paris, several governors and politicians are backtracking on the promise to participate in the Refugee Resettlement Program. At least nine governors have said their states will not accept Syrian refugees. Those decisions came on the heels of the events in Paris and the fact that at least one terrorist held a Syrian passport and entered as a refugee.

With the refugee issue becoming a worldwide crisis, nearly 12 million Syrians have been forced from their homes by the fighting. There are other refugee populations fleeing conflicts throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
